Talus Holdings launches Lakeshore Landscaping with entrepreneur John Curran
Talus Holdings is proud to introduce Lakeshore Landscaping, our newest operating platform, and welcome John Curran as our latest entrepreneurial partner.
Based in Lakeville, Minnesota, Lakeshore Landscaping is being built to bring together exceptional landscaping companies throughout the Twin Cities and, over time, across the Midwest. The platform will partner with respected local businesses that have earned the trust of their customers through quality craftsmanship, reliable service and strong community relationships.
With John serving as president and CEO, Lakeshore combines entrepreneurial leadership with the capital, operational resources and functional expertise needed to help great landscaping businesses reach their next stage of growth.
Building a leading Midwest landscaping platform
Lakeshore Landscaping was created around a straightforward belief: successful local landscaping companies should not have to sacrifice the qualities that made them special in order to grow.
The platform will seek partnerships with established landscaping businesses that share a commitment to service, professionalism and doing things the right way. Lakeshore will preserve the local knowledge, customer relationships and experienced teams behind those businesses while providing access to technology, resources and support typically available only within much larger organizations.
“Lakeshore is not simply acquiring companies,” said Curran. “We are building a platform of highly trusted, proven businesses and helping them grow while keeping the spirit of locally owned and operated companies intact.”
For customers, that approach will create a landscaping partner capable of delivering greater value, more consistent service and higher-quality work. Lakeshore’s capabilities will include commercial and residential landscape maintenance, property enhancements, snow removal, installations, irrigation and repairs. The company will serve property managers, communities, municipalities, businesses and property owners with an emphasis on streamlined operations and clear communication.
Introducing John Curran
John brings an impressive combination of operational, analytical and strategic experience to Lakeshore Landscaping.
A Minnesota native, he began his professional career in operations and data analytics at Land O’Lakes. He later earned his MBA from Harvard Business School before joining McKinsey & Company as a strategy consultant. He also holds a bachelor’s degree from Boston College.

Throughout his career, John has helped large organizations solve complex operational challenges and prepare for sustainable growth. His experience includes designing a future-state structure for an information technology organization with more than 4,000 employees, developing a logistics network strategy projected to generate more than $500 million in savings, creating an artificial intelligence strategy for a major consumer company and leading post-merger procurement initiatives for a packaging business.
That experience gives John a strong foundation for identifying opportunities, building scalable systems and supporting teams through periods of change. Just as importantly, his Minnesota roots give him a personal connection to the communities and business owners Lakeshore will serve.
John’s approach reflects the entrepreneurial model at the heart of Talus Holdings: align interests, empower capable operators and provide them with the resources to build businesses that create lasting value.
Helping landscaping business owners protect their legacy
Many successful landscaping businesses have been built over decades of early mornings, long days and personal sacrifice. Their value extends far beyond equipment, customer lists or financial performance. It lives in their people, reputation and relationships.
Lakeshore intends to treat that legacy with care.
The platform will work with owners who are considering succession, seeking a growth partner or looking for additional resources to support their company’s next chapter. Each opportunity will be approached with respect, confidentiality and flexibility.
Employees will remain central to that process. Lakeshore will prioritize retaining strong teams, investing in equipment and protecting the reputation each business has earned. If an owner is ready to step away from daily operations, Lakeshore can also help identify and support the right leadership for the future.
The goal is not to erase the identity of an outstanding local company. It is to build upon the qualities that made that company successful.
Supported by the Talus Holdings platform
As part of Talus Holdings, Lakeshore will have access to flexible capital, investment experience and a broad network of functional specialists. That support will allow John and local operating teams to remain focused on customers, employees and growth.
Available resources include accounting and financial planning, capital markets, legal services, mergers and acquisitions, market analytics, technology implementation, human resources, treasury management and operational improvement through Lean principles.
These capabilities will help Lakeshore’s partner companies strengthen their systems and create scalable operations without losing the responsiveness and personal service of a local business.
Our work together will be guided by four core principles: ethics and values, people, strong leadership and operational ingenuity.
Growing something lasting
We are excited to begin this new chapter with John and to support his vision for Lakeshore Landscaping.
Minnesota is home to many exceptional landscaping companies built by talented entrepreneurs. Lakeshore offers those owners an opportunity to preserve what they have created, provide new opportunities for their employees and continue growing with an experienced long-term partner.
We believe John has the judgment, discipline and local commitment to build something meaningful. We look forward to working alongside him as Lakeshore Landscaping grows into a leading landscaping service platform across the Twin Cities and the broader Midwest.
