Heritage Facility Services is a locally owned and operated commercial janitorial services platform founded in Maryland in early 2025 by Will Straatman. Serving hundreds of commercial customers and expanding across the Mid-Atlantic, Heritage combines responsive local leadership with the systems, technology and professional resources typically associated with much larger facility services organizations.
Heritage provides commercial janitorial cleaning, carpet and floor care, day porter services, and post-construction cleaning. Its trained teams develop customized service plans for medical facilities, schools and universities, multi-family communities, offices, manufacturing facilities and other properties where cleanliness, safety and consistency are essential.
The company’s growth strategy is built around transparency, empathy, accountability and continuous improvement. Heritage supports its operating businesses with resources spanning finance, technology, human resources, legal services, lean operations and corporate development—creating a stronger organization while preserving the local expertise and personal service customers value.
HISTORY
Straatman founded Heritage after helping build Global Guardian, a physical security company that grew to more than 500 employees across multiple states before its sale in 2023. He created Heritage to partner with respected janitorial companies and help them grow while protecting the employees, customer relationships and community reputations behind their success. Its growing organization includes Schuman Cleaning, which has served customers across Maryland and Delaware since 1985.
