Riverview Landscapes establishes its first Long Island branch with Giannini acquisition
Talus Holdings is proud to celebrate another exciting milestone for Riverview Landscapes: the acquisition of Giannini Landscaping and Holiday Lighting by Giannini, a leading commercial landscaping, holiday lighting and snow management provider headquartered in Lindenhurst, New York.
The partnership establishes Riverview’s first physical branch on Long Island proper and strengthens the company’s ability to grow throughout the region. It also adds specialized, recurring holiday-lighting services to Riverview’s expanding capabilities and marks the company’s 23rd acquisition since 2022.
Welcoming a Long Island company with deep roots
Founded by Mitch Giannini in 1977, Giannini has spent nearly five decades building a strong reputation for high-quality landscaping and seasonal services. The business has grown by earning the trust of commercial customers and delivering dependable care throughout the year.
Mike Kaplan, a former longtime Giannini employee, acquired the company in 2019 with a vision to accelerate its growth and expand its service offering. Under his ownership, Giannini continued building on its established foundation while creating new opportunities for its team and customers.
That history makes Giannini a natural partner for Riverview. Both organizations value consistent service, experienced employees and the customer relationships that sustain a successful local business. By joining Riverview, the Giannini team gains access to additional resources and growth opportunities while continuing to deliver the quality customers have come to expect.
Establishing Riverview’s West Suffolk County branch
Giannini’s Lindenhurst location will become Riverview’s new West Suffolk County branch and join the company’s New York region. This is Riverview’s first physical location on Long Island proper, providing an important local base from which to serve existing customers and pursue organic growth across the market.
The branch will continue under the leadership of Mike Laudando, a Giannini veteran with more than 20 years of experience in account management and operations. His continued involvement provides valuable continuity for employees and clients as the organizations come together.
This leadership approach reflects Riverview’s commitment to retaining the people and local expertise behind the businesses it acquires. Experienced operators understand their teams, customers and communities. Preserving that knowledge while adding the support of a larger regional platform creates a strong foundation for sustainable growth.
With a permanent presence in West Suffolk County, Riverview can respond more closely to local needs, expand its customer base and continue developing its service capabilities throughout Long Island.
Expanding recurring holiday-lighting services
Giannini brings more than geographic reach to Riverview. Holiday Lighting by Giannini adds an established in-house capability that complements the company’s landscaping and snow management services and creates another way to support customers during the winter months.
Professional holiday lighting requires design expertise, reliable installation, ongoing support and careful removal. For commercial properties, it can also help create welcoming seasonal environments for tenants, visitors and surrounding communities. Giannini’s experience gives Riverview a proven foundation from which to expand this offering.
The addition is especially valuable because holiday lighting is a recurring service that can deepen customer relationships beyond the traditional landscaping season. Together with snow management, it broadens the range of winter services Riverview can offer while creating year-round opportunities for its teams.
Continuing Riverview’s growth across the Northeast
Riverview Landscapes provides landscaping and snow management services to thousands of customers across New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts. With more than 700 employees, the company supports commercial properties, community associations, institutions, municipalities and homeowners throughout the region.
Alongside its New York operations, Riverview has established Northern New Jersey, Southern New Jersey and New England regions. The West Suffolk County branch adds another important local market to this network while strengthening the company’s New York presence.
For Talus Holdings, the Giannini acquisition represents the kind of partnership-driven growth we are proud to support. Riverview is investing in a successful company with a strong history, experienced leadership and differentiated capabilities. In return, Giannini gains resources and opportunities that can help its employees continue building on decades of success.
Riverview’s milestone of 23 acquisitions is impressive, but the value of its growth lies in the people, expertise and customer relationships added through each partnership. Giannini brings all three, along with a new location and a service offering that can benefit customers across Riverview’s broader network.
Celebrating the next chapter for Giannini
We congratulate Michael Waterman, Liam Burrell, Mike Kaplan, Mike Laudando and the entire Riverview and Giannini teams on this exciting new chapter.
Giannini has built an admirable legacy on Long Island since 1977. We look forward to seeing that legacy continue within Riverview Landscapes as the West Suffolk County branch expands its reach, creates opportunities for employees and delivers exceptional landscaping, snow management and holiday-lighting services to customers throughout the region.
